Sooooo deep! Bring your snorkel!

Face shots for days! Best day ever! Sooooo deep! Bring your snorkel! All time! If you have had a chance to experience the mountains in the Pacific Northwest over the last few weeks these are some of the phrases you have probably heard passing throughout the lift lines. If you haven’t had a chance to get up into the mountains I am sure social media has kept you in the loop and your friends have rubbed it in your face about how good it’s been, after all, the grass is always greener on the other side. You missed the best day ever dude! It was so much deeper at Alpy today! Well maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t. Either way it’s been good but so be it. If you haven’t been up, there is still time to get some turns. Mother Nature has been blessing us with her fruitful bounty. It’s up to you to run to the hills, pull out your key, and open the door to the white room. It’s open entry, take some initiative and giver.
It hasn’t been blue for a while now so I haven’t really got out my camera to document much shred sticking. When it’s dumping it seems the last thing I want to be doing it f*cking around with camera gear. Well not the last thing. I would actually love to be shooting, but it is a good excuse not to and I love excuses. I want to burn turns and rip throats. I want to pump the Blaupunkt. I could create a diversion but now I am just digressing. I am a snowboarder. I want to rally and get lost with my friends. When the snow is falling hard it closes in the world around you. Each run the slate is wiped clean and you have the chance to etch all new marks over and over again. You are there to ride and ride hard.
When the sky lifts and the sun shows her face, its Columbus time. Get on your ship and sail past the boundaries the storms set for you. On the last set of the blue days we had in Washington we scored. Josh Charles and I got an epic day in Swift and on the Arm with some of the best snow I have ever seen in my 17 or so years sliding on a stick. It was one of those days where the white rooms stood alone after you made your formal exit. The walls fell to the ground like feathers. It was truly an awesome day and to live it with one of the most positive human beings I have ever met just made it even that much more memorable. The next day I shot some photos with JJ “Rad Dad” Johnson, Brandon “Woody” Franulovic, Josh “Ray” Charles, and Luke Thorington. I watched as they annihilated lot lines and even got a mini mid-winter step up sesh going on. On this day I just did a lot of shooting and not much sticking but it was still all time. I love to shred, but just as much I love to shred; I love to watch friends rip it. Although I am behind the box, I know the emotions and feelings that are confronting them while they are in their element finding their moment. It is rad to watch friends push friends and expand each others boundaries. Here are some shots from that day. Enjoy and go get it before it’s gone!
Getting in deep this season? These boys sure are
